The Development History Of Disease Bi(?Ü») Reflected In "Euhakibmun(ì¢ùÊìýÚ¦)"

Abstract

|
|
I had come at the conclusion of the development history of Disease Bi(?Ü») reflected in Yi Cheon (ì°?)¡¯s work, "Euhakibmun(ì¢ùÊìýÚ¦)" in the respects of the causes, mechanism, symptoms, differential diagnosis and treatments. The causes of Disease Bi(?Ü») mentioned at "Euhakibmun(ì¢ùÊìýÚ¦)" followed the Ju Dan-Gyeo(ñ¹Ó¡Í¢)¡¯s theory. The mechanism of it went after the viewpoints of "Nae-Gyeong(Ò®Ìè)", Jang Jung-Gyeong(íåñêÌØ), Yi Dong-Won(ì°ÔÔê¯) and Wang Ho-Go(èÝû¿Í¯). The symptoms of it kept the Ju Dan-Gyeo(ñ¹Ó¡Í¢)¡¯s theory. Yi Cheon distinguished Disease Bi(?Ü») from Gyeol-Hyung(Ì¿ýØ) according to Jang Jung-Gyeong¡¯s theory. He knew it from abdominal dropsy(óìØ») according to Ju Dan-Gyeo¡¯s theory. He also divided it into two respects of deficiency(úÈ) and excessive(ãù) from Yi Dong-Won¡¯s viewpoint. Jang Jung-Gyeong first suggested that treatments of it could be selected according to the difference of deficiency, excessive(ãù), cold(ùÎ), hot(æð), sputum(ÓÃ), fluid(ëæ), blood(úì) and food(ãÝ). Yi Dong-Won insisted many doctors could make a mistake because they only used herbs for Gi(Ѩå·) instead of herbs for blood(úìå·) together. Wang Ho-Go(èÝû¿Í¯) maintained his opinion that treatments of both digestion(á¼Óô) and assistance(ÜÍìÌ), remedies of bitter and hot herbs can recover patients from Disease Bi(?Ü»). Yi Cheon followed their theories properly.
